Boiling Springs basketball returns this season hoping to continue what was started last winter, ending the previous season 16-9 (9-5/3rd in conference play), and a District 3 playoff berth. Hype arose last year not only because of a win against Big Spring, but specifically due to victories over Trinity, something that hasn’t been done since the Dieter teams of the 90s. Coach Brett Sheaffer, 2023 Capital Division coach of the year, will come into his second season with the boy’s team. Along with Coach Sheaffer, key players Brandon Ascione, Riley Lucido, Eli Kimmel, Mason Labuda (Seniors) and junior Ethan Yenser will return. Brandon Ascione and Ethan Yenser specifically averaged 14.5 and 12.7 points per game, resulting in 1st and 2nd division team nods (both respectively) last season. The team started their long and awaited winter season with their annual Paul Corby Tip Off Tournament 11/29-30, winning games against Hanover & New Oxford for the championship along with Brandon Ascione winning tournament MVP. Go Bubblers.
