The Boiling Springs Boys and Girls Golf Teams continued to make history with an incredible performance at the Mid-Penn Conference Championships on Tuesday, September 28.
The top performance of the day went to Brooke Graham who became the first male or female Bubbler Golfer to win the Mid-Penn Championship finishing with a score of 81. Graham defeated every girl from Mid-Penn AAA and AA, capturing the title in dramatic fashion. Graham found herself tied for the lowest round after 18 holes, but she would win the first playoff hole to earn the title.
Macy Trostle had her best career round at the championship, earning a medal by improving her score by 20 strokes from last season’s total, shooting a 95 to finish 10th overall. Trostle has earned an opportunity to compete in the individual portion of the District 3 Championship.
The Girls Golf Team will look to make more history when they take part in the District 3 Championships at Honey Run Golf Course on October 7 and 8. On day one the Bubblers will try to qualify for the AA PIAA State Championships as a team. Day two will focus on individuals looking to punch their tickets to the state championship.
The Bubblers Boys Golf Team was led by Nathaniel Harbst who medaled at the Championship by finishing sixth overall. Harbst recorded a score of 77, which was 11 strokes better than his total in the championship last season. He has secured his entry into the District 3 Championships as an individual.
Austin Fulton continued to improve, finishing 15th at the Championship by shooting an 83. Fulton earned an invite to the District 3 Championship by improving his score by 11 strokes from last year’s championship.
As a team the boys team finished fourth out of the eight teams competing in the AAA at the championship. The Boys Golf District 3 Championship will take place at Briarwood Golf Course on October 7 and 8.
