The Boiling Springs Field Hockey team won the Lady Bubbler Field Hockey Tournament, defeating Greencastle by a score of 3-0 in their first game and then the team took down Carlisle in the championship game by a score of 4-0.
In the Greencastle matchup, the Bubblers got on the board in the second quarter when Reese Hays found Alex Bandura for the game's first goal. Boiling Springs extended their lead in the third quarter when Lexi Hanlin scored off a great pass from Genna Bush. Reagan Eickhoff put the finishing touches on the victory, scoring to give Boiling Springs a 3-0 victory.
The Bubblers moved on to face Carlisle in the championship game and immediately raced out to an early lead. Bandura scored in the eighth minute off a pass from Eickhoff to grab a 1-0 lead. Four minutes later, Kate Yenser found the back of the cage, giving the Bubblers a 2-0 advantage. Hanlin tacked on a third goal in the opening quarter, extending the lead to three.
The Bubblers controlled the game, winning 15 corners and holding a 33-0 edge in shots. Hanlin tacked on a fourth goal in the final quarter, securing the 4-0 victory.
The Field Hockey team will return to action on Monday, September 26 when they host Susquenhanna Township in a Gold Out. The Gold Out games will all benefit BSHS Mini-Thon.
